pretty lights...

Sean put up the Christmas tree for my grandparents. We didn't have time to put our tree up before we left so this was Keagans first time to see a Christmas tree! He was in complete awe of the tree and all the lights. He was content just sitting at staring at the lights. Now when he gets fussy we just take him over to the tree and say "look at the tree...OHH pretty lights..." works like a charm! He loves it. I think he is going to love Christmas just as much as his mama!!

Happy Turkey Day!

For the Thanksgiving holiday we drove to see my family in Mississippi. Sean, my mom, me, Keagan and four dogs in one car! We were packed tighter than sardines! After seven long hours we made it. My grandparents were so excited to see us. They came out right after he was born so they were very surprised to see how much he had grown. My uncle and his four kids also came down for Thanksgiving. I really don't get to see them as much as I would like to, so it was really nice to be able to spend some time with them. Keagan got to met his cousins for the first time and he LOVED them. I think he is trying to tell us that he would like a brother or sister!! We had a wonderful holiday and hope you did too!

My soapbox for today

I just need a moment to vent. I understand that men and women are different. I understand that we both take enjoyment in different activities. I have set by and watched Sean in numoures athletic events. Lets see there was wrestling, soccer, softball, golf, sking, the list goes on forever! I have spent endless hours listening to him talk about hunting, fishing and camping trips. I have even helped him clean a hog that he shot last Janurary, heck I even let him clean that nasty dead thing in my kitchen!!! But there is that one time of year that I dread the most, August! August is when my life starts to change. August is Fantasy Football! I LOATHE fantasy football. Suddenly the life has been sucked out of my husband and he is engulfed in this stupid activity. Every Sunday morning is spent listening to fantasy football live on the computer. I cant even use the computer between 11 and 12! Here is just example of our Sunday morning conversation:

Sean: Babe, I really don't know who I should start this week. Maybe Tony Romo or (insert other well known football player name here). I have to have my line up done my noon. I hope they answer my question on fantasy football live.
This is what I really hear:
Blah blah blah, I am doing something and will be unable to help with the baby for an hour, blah blah blah

I just don't get it! What is so great about fantasy sports! Ladies, we don't have fantasy shopping! There is no fantasy Project Runway or Greys' Anatomy! I don't stress all week long about whether to pick Tim Gunn or Nina Garcia! Ugh!

Now, don't get me wrong I love my husband! I just Love him more after the Superbowl!! Haha!

P.S. there is a website, if you are feeling neglected on sundays and would like help! Its never to late!! http://www.womenaganistfantasysports.com/

Nana to the Rescue!

Keagan is normally such a sweet and lovable little boy, but the past couple days he has been crying for hours at a time. He is having some tummy issues. I know he isn't feeling well. Poor baby! After three days of banshee like crying I enlisted some reinforcement! I called Sean at work on Friday morning and told him (in between sobs) I desperately needed a break. Keagan had been crying since 4 that morning and I was starting to go bonkers from the noise. He called his mom and viola' she was working at home all day. I packed up Keagan and we headed off to Nana's house. Once we got there I quickly handed him off and went on my way. I ran some errands for about an hour. When I returned he was a happy little boy eating his ba-ba (that's bottle in baby lingo)! I ventured to the bedroom to take a much needed nap. So thank you Nana for being my sanity!

Keagan meets Aunt Lane and Mamo

My aunt came into town this week to see Keagan. I was really excited for Keagan to meet his Aunt Lane! My Aunt and I always had fun growing up. She is someone that I really look up to and have many great memories with her. Keagan LOVED her, they had the best time. Elaine is much taller than Sean and I, and Keagan loved looking over her shoulder. I think he enjoyed a taller outlook on the world! I really enjoyed Elaine being here, it was nice to have someone here to break up my day. I love being home with him but sometimes its nice to take a nap with out worrying about him or running to the store by myself. It was nice to have some help. It will be a while before Keagan will see his Aunt Lane. I know he misses her already!

Keagan also met another important person this weekend. Sean's Grandmother came over on Sunday to meet Keagan. She is the sweetest lady. She looks so great for being 93!! She loved holding Keagan and thought he was the cutest baby ever. No surprise here!! I am so glad that he was able to meet Mamo! She lives in Ft. Worth and we dont get to see very often. Hopefully with the holidays coming up we will be able to visit her more!
